During my stay at Paris-Descartes, I studied the binding of a series of platinum complexes to telomeric-like DNA sequences (i.e. in vitro G-quadruplexes), for which we disclosed the binding modes on the quadruplexes. The kinetics of binding to double-stranded oligonucleotides (i.e. genomic-like) were further measured and compared with the series of anticancer platinum(II) complexes. All these experiments were carried out using poly-acrylamide gel electrophoresis with radio-labeled genetic material (32P).
